DINAMICS OF VALUES TRANSFORMATIONS OF CITIZENS OF METROPOLIS (EXAMPLE OF KHARKIV)

Abstract
The article presents the results of analyze the dynamics and factors of the value changes of the inhabitants of Kharkiv. The relevance of the study of urban socio-cultural environment as a space for the development of specific values of urban communities has been pointed out. The specific position of Kharkiv as a city that is historically located in the boundary conditions was analyzed. The results of the regional research «Traditional, Modern and Postmodern Values in the Ukrainian Megapolis (example of Kharkiv)» have been analyzed as an empirical base, in which the R. Inglehart’s methodology was used to assess the orientation of the transformation of values. The definition of the dynamics of the transformation of values was based on the results of the Ukrainian research that was conducted in 2011, carried out according to the same methodology. Among the indicators of value transformation were used social wellbeing, the measure of social distance from other social groups, the relation to deviant practices, the degree of satisfaction with life and financial position, the ability to independently implement change in their own lives, an assessment of possible changes in the future. It is concluded that relatively less rejection of the inhabitants of the megalopolis of deviant behavior and the groups of people surrounding them testifies to openness to post-materialist values. There is a gradual gap between the indicators of the position in the vertical social stratification of society and the degree of satisfaction with the financial situation of the family. The mismatch of the direction of the transformation of the values of the inhabitants of the metropolis in the short and long term is pointed out and substantiated.
