With the increasing global frequency of disasters, the call for disaster preparedness training needs to be reinforced. However, the inclusion of disaster preparedness education in undergraduate nursing curricula is minimal in most countries. Te purpose of this article is to highlight the current state of nursing education and training in disaster management, both generally and in Oman. Te signifcance of disaster preparedness training and recommendations for its inclusion in nursing practice and education are also discussed.
