Доба „МУР-у” та українське еміграційне музикознавство: тенденції та паралелі

Journal Title: Studia Ucrainica Varsoviensia - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue

Abstract

Music and artistic trends within the emigrational environment during the age of concentration camps in the 1940s, and the fi rst few post-war decades in the general context of the emigration classical view, are analyzed. A review of musical publications in emigration allows for ascertaining the problems of that age. It is discovered that traditionalism within the framework of a distinct domination by a national and statist grand-narrative in the musical scope of emigration has become the aesthetic paradigm of music studies’ view of development and the strategy of actions for the whole of musical society. It is stated that in the case of personal consideration, the study of music in emigration represents a more complex picture.
