Doctoral Research output of the Panjab University, Chandigarh in Library and Information Science-1976 to 2017: A Demographic Study

Abstract

The present study is demographic analysis of the doctoral theses submitted to the Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh during 1976-2017. The study presented the year wise distribution of theses, supervisor wise research output, subject wise analysis and gender wise distribution. The study finds that 63 theses have been awarded during the time period and most of the research has been conducted on information seeking behavior. 61.90% theses have been awarded during the time 2001-2017.
