Dynamic Hydraulic Dampers for Earthquake Isolated Structural Systems
Journal Title: Romanian Journal of Acoustics and Vibration - Year 2010, Vol 7, Issue 1
Abstract
This paper presents some solutions on hydraulic devices such as linear motors with direct and reverse reaction with the stabilizing role of building movement under the earthquake action. It emphasizes the possibilities of modelling, analysis and serviceable realization of hydraulic dampers with two main functions: dissipation of the transmitted energy to a building, on the one hand, and providing a relatively constant speed with sufficiently low values, on the other hand.

The Vibrations Influence upon Strain and Stress States of Long Linear Elastic Bar Type Links of Mechanisms
For long linear elastic links of mechanisms subjected to vibration, the determination of displacements fields depending on the motion kinematic parameters makes possible the calculus of additional strains tensor componen...

MODERN METHODS FOR NOISE CONTROL
Noise can be defined as unwanted sound. There are many cases and applications that reducing noise level is of great importance. Loss of hearing is only one of the effects of continuous exposure to excessive noise levels....
Studies concerning the optimization of the modal analysis of the Bechtel’s viaducts – calculus of natural frequencies and eigenvalues

Criteria of Stability for Equilibriums Described by Polynomial Characteristic Equations
In this paper are given some new criteria of stability for the equilibrium positions obtained by solving third, fourth and fifth degrees polynomials. These equations appear when the equation of motion has the form ẍ=f(x)...
