Działania na rzecz rozwoju transportu zrównoważonego w Rzeszowie

Abstract
The article presented the problems connected with the operation of people transport in cities. The dynamic development of cities and the increase in the income of the population has in many cases contributed to limiting the role of public transport and the excessive growth of passenger traffic. This tendency is harmful to the environment. It entails an increase in the demand for petroleum fuels, reduces the comfort of living in the city and, as a result, congestion generates additional costs for businesses and people in urban areas. In line with EU policies, this damaging tendency must be limited. The development of sustainable transport is to a large extent possible. An example of the city of Rzeszow is described the selected actions and measures undertaken within the framework of the development of sustainable transport.
