E-COMMERCE AND GLOBAL FOOD RESOURCES

Journal Title: MANAGERIAL CHALLENGES OF THE CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY - Year 2018, Vol 11, Issue 2

Abstract

Climate change and demographic explosion are just some of the factors that negatively and directly affect global food resources. Globalization also brings benefits such as immediate access to new information and communication technologies. E-commerce, through its giants, tends to change as much as traditional trade, to occupy the markets, including the agri-food market. In this paper we propose to bring into question these trends and to estimate, if possible, in the economic and social consequences of these changes.
