Ecological-meliorative monitoring of irrigated lands of the Lower-Dniester irrigation system in Belyaevsky district

Abstract

The tasks of ecological and reclamation monitoring of irrigated lands in the Lower-Dniester District of the Belyaevsky District have been solved by studying the level and hydro chemical regime of groundwater, salinity and alkalinity of the soil-grounds of the gravity ventilation zone, the quality of irrigated waters and the estimation of the ameliorative state of irrigated lands. It has been established by researches that in the irrigation zone of the Lower Dniester Basin the groundwater regime has assumed a stabilized character, for the period of 2012 ... 2016 on the prevailing territory of irrigated land, groundwaters lie at depths of more than 5 m (14418 ... 16317 hectares, which is 54.8 ... 78.4% of the total irrigation area). On the drainage areas of land with depths less than critical values permeated from 9 to 100 hectares, which is 0.2 ... 2.2% of the total drainage area. By irrigation of southern blackearth with low-salinity Dniester water (0,4 ... 0,6 mg / dm) in the watershed plateau and high river terraces of the Nizhne-Dnestrovsky OS, the analysis of water extracts records in the multi-year section the intensive eluviation of water-soluble salts of the aeration zone. In addition, an analysis of the results of salt suspension surveys showed that during the last 30 years salinized and solonized soils on the lands of the researched area have not been identified. Monitoring of the quality of irrigation water showed that, according to agronomic and ecological criteria water of the Dniester River is suitable for irrigation without restriction. Therefore, it has been established by reasearches that, on the whole, the ecological and reclamation conditions in the zone of influence of the Lower Dnestrovsky OS in the territory of the Belyaevsky District caused no particular concern. Provided that science-based agrotechnics of production on irrigated lands is observed, high and stable crop yields can be obtained. Particular attention should be paid to the observance of recommended irrigation regimes on the sloping lands of the Dniester valley.
