ECONOMIC ACTIVITY OF REGIONAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEXES OF UKRAINE: SCIENTIFIC APPROACHES FOR EVALUATION

Abstract
Purpose. The evaluation of indicators of economic activity of industrial complexes of regions of Ukraine allowed to identify problems and trends in their development. Findings. On the basis of monitoring the level of the share of indus-trial enterprises that introduced innovative technologies over a long period, it was determined that the decrease of this indicator has a cyclical character and its minima corresponds with the years of the economic crisis in Ukraine.It is noted that Ukrainian industry has always been one of the most important branches of the national economy, which has a sig-nificant impact on the economic and social development of the territories. Methodology. The analysis of the recorded number of all full-time employees of Ukraine and those employed in industry; the number of vacancies for all positions in Ukraine and in industry; changes in the average monthly salary of full-time employees. It is determined that the mod-ern level of industrial production requires the introduction of innovative technologies into the practical activities of regional industrial complexes. The analysis of the level of innovations implementation in industrial enterprises in the total number of Ukrainian enterprises and the level of introduction of new technological processes, including low-consumption and resource-saving ones, is carried out. A comparative analysis of the amount of waste generated by regions with the volume of manufactured industrial products makes it possible to state that in regions with developed industry the level of hazardous waste reaches critical values. Practical value. Investigation of the structure of gross value added by types of economic activity in market prices during 2010-2017 by quarterly statistical data for industries: extractive industry and quarry development; processing industry; supply of electricity, gas supply, steam and air condi-tioning; water supply, sewage, waste management, was conducted to find out the development trends and problems of regional industrial complexes. Results. On the basis of the study of the structure of the gross value added, it was con-cluded that the fluctuations in the above indicators are of a seasonal nature: the minimum values are at the beginning of the calendar year for each of the industry branches.
