ECONOMIC INTERRELATIONS BETWEEN SEA PORT AND TRANSPORT SYSTEM ON THE HINTERLAND

Journal Title: Biuletyn Instytutu Morskiego - Year 1995, Vol 22, Issue 2

Abstract

Development of the land- sea chains became a major factor influencing essential changes on the line of contact between a sea port and hinterland transport - thus imposing necessity of securing continuity of a combined transport system upon those two links. A problem of a growth in economic and technical efficiency in a port - transport system has been evident mainly due to the development of intermodal process, and further due to the logistic concept in transportation.
