Economic Literacy of Kastamonu University Students

Abstract
The ability to interpret the economic developments and the effects of these developments are defined as economic literacy. By the help of economic literacy, rational individuals can understand world economy, the results of economic policies. This will help them to make right economic decisions. In this regard we aimed to measure economic literacy of Kastamonu University Students by using scale that was developed in earlier researches. We conducted survey to 428 students in Faculties, High Schools and Vocational School in Kastamonu centre. We tested our hypotheses and applied factor analysis so that we reached remarkable results which can contribute to literature. According to results students are sufficient in economic literacy and trust themselves, however they have to do more in improving their skills.
