EDUCAÇÃO CONTINUADA: UM INTERESSE INSTITUCIONAL NA CONSTRUÇÃO DA INTEIREZA DOS DOCENTES DE PROGRAMAS DE DOUTORADO EM EDUCAÇÃO DE UNIVERSIDADES DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL

Abstract
The present research is justified by the commitment of Higher Educational Institutions with society in the formation of whole human beings who contribute with meaningful innovations for the improvement of the quality of being and living in the world. The research, in the qualitative approach with a comprehensive-interpretative focus on a transdisciplinary perspective, aimed to propose a new view of continuing education in the path of “becoming human” (FURTER, 1974), attempting to investigate the contributions that continuing education has been offering to the building of wholeness in educators of the Doctoral Programs on Education in Universities in Rio Grande do Sul. Based on Wilber, Delors, Morin, Nóvoa and Niculescu and on results of previous Franciscone’s (2007) research, the investigation allowed awareness of our “impermanence”, building us and forming us to produce meaning and create knowledge. Its results instigated us on the importance of continuing education as a selfformation process in the constructive dimensions of beings in search of their wholeness.
