EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE PRIMARY SCHOOL: MODERN APPROACHES AND REQUIREMENTS

Abstract

Abstract. The article reveals the essence of the notion of “educational environment” as a subject of the educational space, which is a complex system of intellectual, cultural, methodological, organizational, technical resources. It is proved that the educational environment influences the student’s personal development and the results of his educational activities. The author emphasizes that in the New Ukrainian School the educational environment should become an environment belonging to the students, where the tasks of development of the personality of the child, their abilities and desires, the formation of competencies that will ensure the readiness of students to live in a society where every child independently from its physical and psychological peculiarities will feel comfortable. The author observes that modern approaches to the organization of the educational environment are based on the principles of humanism, democracy, respect for the rights and freedoms of each individual, including children with special educational needs. Therefore, in the context of the implementation of the “New Ukrainian School” Concept, the creation of an inclusive educational environment, the effective functioning of which is characterized by a set of pedagogical, psychological and sociological conditions, is of great importance. The article reveals the essential features of a physical and psychologically safe educational environment, the organization of which involves responding to new challenges and requirements, the implementation of a system of principles. Psychologically safe environment helps to meet the needs of person-trust communication, creates a reference value of the environment and ensures the mental health of the participants in the educational process. The author notes that the creation of an effective physical environment is achieved through the organization of educational centres, which provide for the provision of conditions for educational activities of schoolchildren, for individual and group work. The role of the elementary school teacher in the organization of physical and psychologically safe educational environment is outlined. The necessity of implementing modern approaches to the organization of the educational environment and the use of various innovative methods, devices, tools and forms of work in the educational process of the New Ukrainian School have been proved. An important direction for further research is the study of theoretical and methodological principles of teacher training for the organization of a safe and productive educational environment of primary school.
