Abstract
Hydraulic impact, a sudden change of the pressure in the pipe conveying fluid, occurs due to rapid valve closure, pump failure, etc. It can cause severe damage of the installations components. Comparison of the effectiveness of the protection against hydraulic impact selected systems is shown. The new method of the effectiveness assessment is presented.
