Effect of Anti Browning Agents on Partial Purified Polyphenol Oxidase of Hawthorn (Crataegus Spp)
Journal Title: International journal of Advanced Biological and Biomedical Research - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue 8
Abstract
Objective: Polyphenol oxidase or PPO (EC 1.14.18.1) is considered the enzyme responsible for quality deterioration and browning in different fruits during postharvest period. The objective of this study was to evaluate the antibrowning (inhibition of polyphenol oxidase activity) effect of Cysteine, Ascorbic acid, citric acid, kojic acid and glycine at two different pH (6 and 7) in hawthorn. Methods: Partial purified polyphenol oxidase was mixed with Cys, ascorbic acid, citric acid, glycine and kojic acid, to assess their effect on PPO. Results: The most effective PPO inhibitors was kojic acid. IC50 for cysteine was earned 0.48 and 0.58, for ascorbic acid, 0.8 and 1, for citric acid, 0.75 and 0.85 and for kojic acid was 0.3 and 0.4 at pH 6 and 7, respectively Partial purified polyphenol oxidase was mixed with Cys, ascorbic acid, citric acid, glycine and kojic acid, to assess their effect on PPO. Effect of Triamidefon fungicide on some growth parameters and antioxidant enzymes activity in tomato (Lycopersicom esculentum Mill.) plant under drought stress
Triamidefon is a triazole derivative, which have both fungicidal and plant growth regulator (PGR) properties, and also protect plants from several types of abiotic stresses. The influential mechanism of Triamidefon on...
Genetic Dissection of Some Important Agronomic Traits in Rice Using Line × Tester Method
A study was conducted on genetics of some important agronomic traits (number of productive tillers per hill, plant height (cm), panicle length (cm), number of spikelets per panicle and 100-grain weight) in rice during...
Effects of Natural (Red Bell Pepper & Tomato) and Synthetic (Astaxanthin & ¬-Carotene) Pigments on Flower Horn Fish (Cichlasoma Sp.) Blood Parameters
Objective: In this survey, we have checked the effects of natural (red bell pepper and tomato) and synthetic (astaxanthin and ‚-carotene) pigments on bloods factors of Flower horn (Cichlasoma sp.). Methods: Five trea...
The Effect of Copper Sulfate on Chicken Embryo During the Incubation Period
Objective: Fungal agents cause disease in virtually any susceptible hosts. In the poultry production and medicine, pathogens were eliminated from a line of a breeder by injection of antifungals into hatching eggs. Ther...
Effect of Atriplex Halimus on Indicators of soil erodibility (Case Study: Incheborun, Golestan Province)
Vegetation deterioration is a main cause of erosion and land degradation. Therefore, land cover reclamation in the effected areas will affect erosion trend. In reclamation projects, the investigation of relationship be...
