Effect of Different Levels of Fly Ash and Vermicompost on Growth of Lemongrass (Cymbopogon Flexuosus Nees)
Journal Title: International Journal of Agricultural Science and Research (IJASR) - Year 2017, Vol 7, Issue 3
Abstract
This investigation was undertaken to study the effect of different levels of fly ash and vermicompost on growth of lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus Nees) during the year 2014-2015, at Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP), Boduppal, Hyderabad. The results enunciated that among the treatments, T7 (FA 6 t/ha + VC 4t /ha) recorded significantly maximum plant height (154.6 cm and 123.7 cm), number of tillers (42 and 54), number of leaves (142 and 182), leaf area (207.4 cm2 and 159.4cm2) at 90 (First season) and 180 (Second season) days, respectively. The results from the experiment demonstrated that among the different treatments, the treatment T7 with fly ash 6 t/ha and vermicompost 4 t/ha may be considered as the best treatment obtaining higher plant growth of lemongrass.
