Effect of Gushenantai pill on endometrium and clinical outcome during frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycle
Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 8
Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of Gushen'antai pill on endometrium and clinical outcome during frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycle, and to explore its clinical application. Methods A total of 174 patients who underwent hormone replacement frozen-thawed embryo transfer in the Reproductive Medical Center of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Xijing Hospital, Air Force Medical University from July 2020 to August 2021 were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 87 patients in each group. Gushen'antai pill was used in the experimental group during the period of endometrial preparation and luteal support, while it was not used in the control group. The differences of the two groups were compared, including the general conditions, the levels of blood estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P), endometrial thickness, classification and blood flow on the day of transformation, the endometrial peristalsis wave on the day before transplantation, the number of high-quality embryo transferred, embryo implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate and early abortion rate. Results There were no significant differences in age, infertility years, and body mass index between the two groups (P > 0. 05), indicating comparability. On the day of transformation, there were no significant differences in the levels of E2 and P between the two groups (P > 0. 05). The endometrial thickness and type A endometrial ratio in experimental group were higher than those in control group, but there was no statistical significance (P > 0. 05). The blood flow in experimental group was significantly improved, and pulsatility index and resistance index were lower than those in control group (P <0. 05). On the day before transplantation, the frequency of endometrial peristalsis wave in experimental group was significantly lower than that in control group (P < 0. 05). There was no significant difference in the number of high-quality embryo transferred between the two groups ( P > 0. 05 ). The embryo implantation rate and clinical pregnancy rate of experimental group were higher than those of control group, but there was no statistical significance (P > 0. 05 ). Compared with control group, the early abortion rate was significantly decreased in experimental group (P < 0. 05). Conclusion In the period of endometrial preparation and luteal support in frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycle, Gushen'antai pill can improve embryo implantation rate and clinical pregnancy rate to a certain extent, significantly reduce the early abortion rate, and improve pregnancy outcome by improving endometrial blood flow, increasing endometrial receptivity and reducing the frequency of endometrial peristaltic wave, so as to provide a new way for clinical adjuvant drug use.
