Effect of Urban Road Slope and Speed on Motor Vehicle Emission
Journal Title: 河南科技大学学报(自然科学版) - Year 2019, Vol 40, Issue 2
Abstract
To study the impact of urban road gradient change on motor vehicle emissions, based on vehicle emission test platform, the actual road emission data was obtained. Through the vehicle specific power ( VSP) backstepping, the data was improved. The emission characteristics of three pollutants ( CO, HC, NOx) in the different speed range of the light vehicle in four slope sections were analysed. Analysis results show that when the vehicle speed is in the speed range of 20 ~ 50 km/h, the mass emission rate of the three pollutants approximately increases by 22. 8%, 23. 6% and 24. 4%, respectively for increasing each slope interval. On the road with a certain slope, when the vehicle speed is in the speed range of 20 ~ 40 km/h, the three pollutants are in high-emission state. The mass emission rate is approximately increased by 64. 3%, 80. 0% and 95.0%, respectively compared with low-emission state.
