Effects Of Domestic Violence Covid-19 Epidemic In Turkey

Abstract

Covid-19; It is a global epidemic that originates in China and spreads all over the world. As in all different institutions, late and local, it was applied differently in the family institution. In particular, the transfer of the workload in the public sphere into the house has made the houses a public space, and there have been harmony and conflicts within the family members in the process of keeping up with the innovation.. It is aimed to investigate the effect of the Covid-19 epidemic on domestic violence. Research; A response form to 215 responses between the ages of 18-65 was conducted through application. The questions in the questionnaire are composed of socio-demographic characteristics, domestic physical violence, psychological violence, economic violence situations, help attitudes towards domestic violence and impact scales. The data obtained from the research were analyzed with the SPSS program. About the research; It was determined that more than half of the participants experienced quarantine family quarrels, intolerance, dominant attitude in the family, and shared roles in the home, while at the same time not subjected to psychological and economic violence. It has been observed that a great majority of those who suffered domestic violence did not receive any help. It has been concluded that the factors colliding milk affect the impact of the Covid 19 epidemic on domestic violence, the monthly income and happiness level of the individual
