Effects of pulmonar tuberculosis social implications are more imperative than imaging

Journal Title: Revista Cuarzo - Year 2014, Vol 20, Issue 1

Abstract

The presentation of these two cases of tuberculosis patients recently hospitalized in our Department of Internal Medicine, aims at getting students acquainted with the kind of organiza-tion that they will continue to find under many different clinical and radiological manifestations throughout their practice in their country and at the same time, raising their awareness about social issues loaded with pain for which, until now, the¬re doesn’t exist, as for many others, real political willingness. There is no doubt that lack of organization of health systems, poor implementation of DOTS strategy, absence of more sen¬sitive diagnostic methods for detecting the presence of AIDS, carelessness on the side of teachers, violent groups with their coca cultivations and even the TB epidemic cycle, account, but only partially, for the shameful incidence of this organi¬zation in our country; the other part of responsibility has to be taken by 45.000.000 Colombians gathered under complicit silence, who refuse to call for political willingness which is crucial in order to make a change regarding this situation and many others issues.
