Effects of raw alcohol distillery effluent on the behavioural And biochemical aspects of a fresh water fish, Cyprinus carpio (Linn.)

Abstract

Water pollution occurs due to the presence of dissolved inorganic and organic material water and physical factors such as turbidity, colour, temperature, associated radioactivity, etc. Both metals potential pollutants are affecting the Ichthyofauna either directly or indirectly. Most of the industries discharge their waste without proper treatment which cause change in physical, chemical and biological characteristic of water. The release of untreated industrial effluents into aquatic system seriously affects aquatic biota and their production. The deterioration of water quality day by day is due to the discharge of untreated effluents, which demand urgent measures to assess pollutions. Hence the present study was under taken to find the impact of distillery effluents on blood glucose level and lactic acid in Cyprinus carpio.
