Effects of Spatial Light Modulator with Obliquely Incident Plane Wave on Generated Perfect Vortex Beam

Abstract

The change of perfect vortex beam caused by the spatial light modulator ( SLM) with obliquely incident plane wave was studied. The phase mask was designed by combining the spiral phase and the transmittance function of axicon. The perfect vortex beam was generated in the Fourier plane of the SLM. The vortex nature was demonstrated by controlling the ± 1 storder interference of perfect vortex beams. By changing the incident angle of the plane wave illustrated in the SLM, the eccentricity of perfect vortex beam has a linear function relation with the incident angle of the plane wave, with correlation coefficient up to 0. 986 72.Furthermore, with the increasing of the incident angle of the plane wave, the total intensity of the perfect vortex beam gradually decreases.
