Efficient and Alternative Characterization of transition aluminas (η, γ, ϴ, δ-Al2O3) Derived from Aeroxide: Application of FT-IR and SEM
Journal Title: Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
Heat treatment of Aeroxide (Alu C) at 500 oC in high vacuumproduced reactive phase onaluminum oxide surface. While Aeroxide from Degussa shows a mixture of transition aluminas (γ, δ, and ϴ) phases, precise understanding on the development, surface morphology and microstructure of this catalytically active Al2O3 are not readily available. Combination of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS) and Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy were used in this study to probe the transition alumina phase induced at the high temperature calcination. Assignment of IR bands on the pretreated sample at 500 oC unambiguously distinguished Θ-Al2O3 phase which is a mixture of tetrahedral and octahedral Al3+ sites on the face centered cubic (fcc) Oxygen sub lattice

A density functional theory study on the effect of size on the ionization potential of different carbon fullerenes
Theoretical investigations were performed to study the structures and properties of different carbon nanoclusters. The computed properties were compared with those of the fullerene. The study systems included carbon full...
Taste-masking assessment of orally disintegrating tablets of valsartan using ion exchange resin
Oral disintegrating tablets are novel attractive dosage form that disintegrate or dissolve in the buccal cavity within seconds without use of water. The major drawback in designing of this dosage form is unpleasant taste...
Exploring molecular docking and electronic studies of [11C]LY2795050 as a novel antagonist tracer for positron emission tomography (PET) scan of the kappa (κ) and mu (µ) opioid receptors (KOR and MOR)
The main purpose of the present research article is the docking analysis of [11C]LY2795050 radiopharmaceutical with kappa (κ) and mu (µ) opioid receptors (KOR and MOR) and comparison of MOR-ligand and KOR-ligand complexe...
Polluted Water Borne Diseases: Symptoms, Causes, Treatment and Prevention
Polluted and dirty water is very harmful for living organisms especially for health of humans. It causes many serious health problems which can ultimately lead to death if not treated at early stages. Water borne disease...
Study of the antibacterial effect of 5-(4-chlorophenyl)-1H-tetrazole and its oxime precursor against strains isolated from the hospital environment
The compounds used in this study, TET and OXM, were tested in vitro for their antibacterial activities against isolated strains from the hospital environment (S. aureus H, E. coli H and K. pneumoniae H) and reference str...
