Abstract

The technological develpoment of the sixties led to the possibility to leave the studios with the film cameras, and go out with them on the street, creating through that a new visual style which reformuleted the possibilities of the documentary fi lm. Those possibilities - hand hold camera, sicron sound recording - were exploated by the cinema verité movement in France and by the direct cinema in the US and Canada. A new star appered on the screen: Reality.
