Abstract
In Cehegín there were two categories of nobility: the notorious and the enforceable. The latter had to prove their nobility by litigating in the Chancelleries in front of the councils that intended to reduce the number of privileged people in the town, which was the responsibility of the former, who governed the town and for economic reasons, since the nobility was exempt from paying taxes.
