EKG w pediatrii. Zaburzenia rytmu serca u dzieci – cz. IV

Journal Title: Na Ratunek - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 5

Abstract

Cardiac arrhythmias can occur in a child of any age. Their course is very diverse, from completely asymptomatic to sudden cardiac death (SCD). Physicians point out that in recent years the occurrence of cardiac arrhythmias in children has increased, which may be due to the availability of better diagnostic tools. Cardiac arrhythmias are referred to when the heart rate deviates from the standard for a given age. The basic mechanisms responsible for the occurrence of arrhythmias are reentry and heart automatism disorders. In paediatric ECG diagnostics emergency medical professionals should pay special attention to cardiac arrhythmias, which may be responsible for cardiac arrest within a short time.
