Zatorowość płucna w praktyce – cichy zabójca?

Journal Title: Na Ratunek - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 2

Abstract

Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a condition involving partial or complete occlusion of the pulmonary artery with embolic material. This leads to a patient developing symptoms of circulatory insufficiency that intensify the development of respiratory failure. The acute phase of PE, with right heart failure (RV), can lead to cardiac arrest. The standard procedure, including several modifications during CPR, can lead to the correct treatment effect. In the PE detection, the knowledge of an emergency medical team on factors predisposing to PE plays a significant role.
