El impacto ambiental a la región histórica de Puerto Príncipe

Abstract

Dado que este tercer núme ro de Monteverdia esta dedicado a la ciudad deCamagüey, el Comité Editorial se puso en contacto con la Ofcina del Historiador de la Ciudad de Camagüey para entrevistar, en su sección ‘La opinión del invitado’, a uno de los especialistas de dicha institución, con la intención de obtener información sobre la historia ambiental del territorio. Resultó ser el M.Sc. José Fernando Crespo Baró la persona que se ha encargado de estudiar, con mayor asiduidad, este tema dentro del citado colectivo y, para beneplácito de los lectores de la revista, tenía ya preparado un artículo en que aborda una de las aristas de mayor interés en este tema: la destrucción del paisaje en la región histórica de Puerto Príncipe por la actividad económico - social – pecuaria durante los tres primeros siglos coloniales cubanos.
