Abstract
The publication by the Royal Academy Alfonso X el Sabio of Murcia of an important book for Cehegín is still recent. Important because it addresses the figure of one of the local notables with the greatest impact in its history (if only for having given rise to the foundation of what is now more than venerable Hospital de la Real Piedad). But it is also important because it is signed by the corresponding academic and official chronicler of the municipality, Mr. Abraham Ruiz Jiménez, already almost a hundred years old, but still in the gap of the cultural diffusion of the things of his adoptive town (a fruitful pastime grown in parallel to the one that was his profession as a bank manager at the highest regional level). I refer, and I want to dedicate this review to it, to the latest installment of the collection of "Popular Biographies of Illustrious Murcians", which chooses to bring Ramón Chico de Guzmán (1843-1876) into the public domain on this occasion: life, verse and prosa, (Fig. 1) which is the title that leads to the front and that to whoever writes this seems definitive in its contents facing the knowledge of this certainly illustrious personality of the nineteenth-century Cehegín.
