Electroless Nickel Copper Metallization as a Reinforcing Approach for Sintered Aluminium Metal Matrix Composites
Journal Title: Tribology in Industry - Year 2019, Vol 41, Issue 3
Abstract
The aim of the paper is to study a creation of co-metallized Aluminium Metal Matrix Composites based on aluminium turnings as metal matrix, aluminium powder and carbon nanotubes. The AlMMC is composed of aluminium alloy (AlSi9Cu3) turnings, silicon carbide microparticles (SiCp) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) after electroless (Ni-Cu-P) metallization, sintered together in different combinations with aluminium alloy powder (AlSi10Mg). The obtained composite materials with electroless metallized components (Ni-Cu-P) were investigated performing analysis of the morphology, hardness and tribological tests. The properties of co-metalized metal-metal and metal-carbon nanotubes sintered aluminium matrix composites were analysed and compared.

Applications of Friction Stir Processing during Engraving of Soft Materials
Friction stir processing has extensive application in many technological operations. Application area of friction stir processing can be extended to the processing of non-metallic materials, such as wood. The paper exami...
Mechanical and Tribological Characteristics of TIG Hardfaced Dispersive Layer by Reinforced with Particles Extruded Aluminium
The article presents the results of the implemented technology for generation of hardfaced dispersive layers obtained by additive material containing reinforcing phase of non-metal particles. The wear resistant coatings...
Friction Forces at the Wheel's Contact with the Ground in a Turning Vehicle
Tangential ground reactions are friction forces in their essence. Problems in the description of the frictional contact of the wheel with the ground arise during the curvilinear motion of a vehicle. There is a force and...
Abrasive Wear Modes in Ball-Cratering Test Conducted on Fe73Si15 Ni10Cr2 Alloy Deposited Specimen
The objective of this study was to develop a theoretical model and associated wear mode map to identify the regimes in which two body abrasion (grooving abrasion) and three body abrasion (rolling abrasion) dominate in th...
Influence of Parameters on Sliding Wear of Titanium Nitride Coated 6061 Aluminium Alloy
The objective was to study the wear behaviour of titanium nitride deposited onto 6061 aluminium alloy by DC magnetron sputtering technique. The coating on the aluminium substrate was characterized using optical microscop...
