Electromagnetic compatibility - electrostatic discharge tests for automotive
Journal Title: International Journal of Automotive Engineering and Technologies - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
The international automotive ESD standard (ISO 10605: 2008) has significant differences from the commercial ESD testing standard (IEC 61000‑4‑2). Differences include the Human Body Model (HBM) used to simulate a person’s electrical network and the utilization of significantly higher discharge voltages, up to ±25kV air discharge. This article aims to examine the differences and consider why they exist. The test methods will be explained and the similarities between the automotive and commercial product standards also highlighted. A discussion will also be forwarded on why other non‑automotive products might be improved if they were designed to meet the automotive ESD standard and why this standard might be more appropriate in some non‑automotive situations than IEC 61000‑4‑2.

Investigation of Echinops Kebericho Mesfin Seed Oil as a Biodiesel Production Feedstock: Opportunities From the Wilderness
The major energy sources of the world depend on coal, natural gasses and petroleum which are exhaustible and environmentally unfriendly. Biodiesel is a mono alkyl organic compound of long chain of fatty acids made of oil...
Estimating Engine Performance and Emission Values Using ANFIS
In this study, the effect of methanol mixtures in different proportions to emission and performance of the motor has been estimated using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) model. Training data and test data h...
Determination of the fuel properties of cottonseed oil methyl ester and its blends with diesel fuel
In this study; density, kinematic viscosity, calorific value, flash point and water content of methyl ester produced from cottonseed oil (CO) were determined under varying blend ratio with ultimate euro diesel fuel, also...
Experimental investigation of coating in a diesel engine for improved exhaust emissions and performance
In this study, adiabatic property was brought to a 4-cylinder natural aspirated, direct injection diesel engine. For this purpose, cylinder liner, piston upper surface and valves were coated with powder with boron. Solid...
Mathematical Model for Fuel Flow Performance of Diesel Engine
In this paper, response surface method (RSM) was proposed to determine fuel flow performance of an internal combustion diesel engine by using different specific conditions (injection pressure, engine speed and throttle p...
