Emission and dispersion of gaseous pollution from exhaust shafts of copper mine
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 10
Abstract
The primary objective of the study was to determine the volumes of emission and dispersion of gaseous pollution from 3 exhaust shafts of a copper mine P-VII, SW-3 and SG-2. To calculate the volumes of emission and dispersion of SO2, NO2 and CO the KOMIN and RWW computer programs were applied. The conducted analysis of the calculations and computer simulation showed that the extent of the impact of emisson on the rural residential area situated in the nearest vicinity of the shaft site is insignificant. The observed exceedance of reference values occurred on the premises of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. The computer simulation proved that the nature reserve 'Buczyna Jakubowska' situated 1.6 kms north-west of the nearest emitters belonging to the mine is not exposed to above-standard concentrations of SO2, NO2 and CO.

ANALYSIS OF FREE VIBRATIONS OF A PLATE AND FLUID IN CONTAINER
The paper concerns the free vibrations of a plate in contact with a fluid in a container. The plate is supported at container walls. The analysed problem is a coupled problem of the structure-liquid type. It is assumed t...
Rheological redistribution of stresses in multi-layered beams
The paper concerns problems of rheology in wooden structures reinforced with polyester-glass composite bars glued to them by means of epoxy resin. A theoretical model of the behaviour of a multi-layered beam is presented...
EQUIVALENT STABILIZING FORCE OF THE SIMPLY SUPPORTED ROOF GIRDERS INCLUDING THE LONGITUDINAL VARIABILITY OF THE COMPRESSION FORCE ACTING IN THE RESTRAINED CHORD
In the calculation model of the equivalent stabilizing force qd for bracing system consistent with EN 1993-1-1 it has been conservatively assumed that the member to be restrained is uniformly compressed within its length...
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ORGANIC POLLUTANTS REMOVAL IN CONSTRUCTED WETLAND WITH HORIZONTAL SUB-SURFACE FLOW
This paper presents the results of the research work related to the removal efficiency from wastewater organic pollutants and suspended solids at HSSF (horizontal subsurface flow) construcred wetland. The average effecti...
A CONSISTENT AYRTON-PERRY APPROACH FOR THE FLEXURAL-TORSIONAL BUCKLING RESISTANCE EVALUATION OF STEEL I-SECTION MEMBERS
Steel I-section members subjected to compression a monoaxial bending about the major axis are dealt with in this paper. The current Eurocode’s design procedure of such members is based on a set of two interpolation equat...
