Emotional regulation and life satisfaction: The predictive role of attitudes to COVID-19

Journal Title: Revista Eugenio Espejo - Year 2024, Vol 18, Issue 1

Abstract

The pandemic generated diverse consequences among the population. The present study sought to determine whether attitudinal factors concerning COVID-19 are predictors of emotional regulation and life satisfaction. The design used corresponded to the cross-sectional predictive because a multivariate regression analysis was proposed, with prediction of the dependent variables. The sample evaluated was 387 inhabitants of Trujillo over 18 years of age, who were selected based on a non-probabilistic sampling by convenience and responded to the scale of attitudes towards COVID-19 and the emotional regulation and life satisfaction questionnaires. The results showed that the emotional-affective factor predicted emotional regulation, and the cognitive factor predicted life satisfaction.
