EMPLOYEE RELATED LEGISLATION FOR IT SECTOR – INDIAN PERSPECTIVE

Journal Title: Elysium Journal of Engineering Research and Management - Year 2014, Vol 1, Issue 1

Abstract

There are plethora of legal requirements in India which are to be complied by industries. Over the years some of the employee related laws were amended in line with the changing industrial policies of the government. However the Information Technology (IT) revolution made the government to dilute the laws thereby providing exemptions to certain sectors of industries. These exemptions were provided in order to boost industrial growth. But in reality the industries flout the laws and this has weakened the employee to a large extent. This article highlights the grey areas and attempts to provide a mechanism for maximum compliance so that the employee’s interests are protected.
