Entorno murciano y fulgentino del Obispo Caparrós y López

Journal Title: Alquipir - Year 2022, Vol 7, Issue 1

Abstract

One of Cehegín’s most renowned clergymen was Bishop Caparrós y López. Of humble origins, José María Caparrós began his training in Cehegín, although he would soon go to Murcia, where, thanks to the scholarships he was awarded, he would become a professor at the Fulgentine Seminary. The respect that the bishopric had for him was evident in his presence at several solemn ceremonies, such as the visit of Isabel II to Murcia, as well as in his being sent to the parish of the Villa de la Jorquera. It is for this reason that in this article the author carries out an arduous task of research in order to create a biography of the character, alluding also to his disciples and teachers.
