Abstract
Introduction: The present work aimed to investigate the association between G10398A polymorphism in mtDNA with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) susceptibility among Chinese northwestern population. Methods: Polymerase chain reaction followed by the restriction digestion of the amplicon to clarify the restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) was used to score the G10398A variation of mtDNA NADH dehydrogenase3 (ND3) locus in a case-control study (n=422), including 209 patients with T2DM and 213 healthy controls.
