Epidemic characteristics of foodborne disease outbreaks in Mengla Countyï¼ Yunnan Province from 2017 to 2021

Abstract
ObjectiveTo analyze the epidemic characteristics of foodborne disease outbreaks in Mengla Countyï¼ Yunnan Provinceï¼ so as to provide basis for formulating corresponding prevention and control measures.MethodsThe data of foodborne disease outbreaks in Mengla Countyï¼ Yunnan Province from 2017 to 2021 in the national "foodborne disease outbreak monitoring system" were collected. The timeï¼ populationï¼ regionï¼ placeï¼ pathogenic factors and inducing links of the events were statistically analyzed.ResultsFrom 2017 to 2021ï¼ a total of 68 incidents were reportedï¼ including 526 cases and 5 deaths. The total incidence rate was 23.40% and the case fatality rate was 0.95%. The peak period was from May to Julyï¼ with the largest number of reported events in July. The reporting areas were mainly Mengla Town ï¼35.29%ï¼ï¼ Guanlei Town ï¼11.76%ï¼ and Mengpeng Town ï¼10.29%ï¼. The main place of the incident was family ï¼76.47%ï¼. The main pathogenic factors were plant toxins ï¼79.41%ï¼ï¼ mainly through the ingestion of wild mushrooms ï¼68.52%ï¼ï¼ improper processing of green beans ï¼12.96%ï¼ and aconitum ï¼9.26%ï¼.ConclusionAccording to the epidemiological characteristics of Mengla Countyï¼ we should focus on the public education of health knowledge in key areas and placesï¼ especially on the identification of wild mushroomsï¼ to prevent accidental eating. At the same timeï¼ we should strengthen the monitoring and risk assessment of foodborne diseasesï¼ find potential risks as soon as possibleï¼ issue early warning and forecast in timeï¼ and constantly improve the clinical treatment ability of poisoned patients.
