Eropean Board of Urology examination in Poland

Abstract
European Board of Urology (EBU) as regulatory body of european urology has been organizing, outstanding examination in urology since 1992. This exam is dedicated to all medical doctors from European Union that became certified urologists in their parent countries. It was introduced in Poland in 1997 as national examination in urology for all residents and so far, in 2011 it plays a role as National Specialization Exam (NSE). It has to be passed to become a certified urologist in Poland. Once done, the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) is acknowledged. The examination being reliable, just and multi-sided is organized and financed in our country by Polish Urological Association (PUA) in coordination with Center of Medical Examinations (CME) and Postgraduate Medical Education Center (PMEC). Polish edition of the exam is prepared and conducted by National Consultant in urology. The test of practical performance of a candidate precedes the exam. It is divided into two parts: written one which is the test with multiple choice questions and oral one which involves clinical cases. The EBU exam results of polish candidates do not yield the results of candidates from foreign, european countries. Four houndred and thirty four polish urologists passed the EBU exam till 2011. FEBUs constitute almost half of all, practicing urologists in our country.
