ERRORS IN DESIGN OF INDIRECT LIGHTING WITH EMITTING DIODES OCCURRED BY USING COMMERCIAL COMPUTER PROGRAMS

Abstract

Indirect lighting installations, in which the observer cannot see direct light sources, seem to be the perfect place where LEDs can be used. Such solutions are already commonly used, but mostly because of the aesthetic aspects than their usability. Usage of of LEDs in these systems solves all the problems that exist in the case of fluorescent lamps. When performing computer simulations, using the most popular commercial lighting programs – Dialux and Relux, LED installation, in which the observer cannot see the light source, you have to remember that received visualizations do not touch the glare problem. Significant differences have been noted in the results of the lighting parameters that have been calculated by these programs. This article presents also several types of errors, which are often committed during designing of the indirect lighting using LED sources.
