Essai de mesure des mariages interethniques dans la ville d’Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire)

Abstract

La question de la mesure des mariages interethniques en Côte d’Ivoire est quasi inexistante alors que les travaux qualitatifs sur le sujet sont légions. En s’appuyant sur un échantillon quantitatif non probabiliste et les statistiques descriptives, cette contribution tente de mesurer les mariages interethniques en milieu urbain. Il aboutit aux principaux résultats qui suivent. Comparativement à leurs ascendants, les descendants de mariages ont contracté des mariages interethniques exogames alors que leurs ascendants ont contracté des mariages interethniques endogames. Ainsi, plus 62% des mariages interethniques dénombrés sont exogamiques contre 37% de mariages interethniques endogamiques. 72% des descendants de mariages interethniques avaient un âge compris entre 21-40. 83% de ceux-ci ont été socialisés dans une famille élargie. 41% des descendants parlaient concomitamment la langue du père et celle de la mère et 71% parmi eux s’identifient au groupe ethnique de leur père contre respectivement 15% au groupe ethnique de la mère et 12% simultanément aux deux groupes.
