Abstract
The paper deals with the key notions, research focuses, results and methods of the ethnography of speaking as an influential socio-discursive approach integrating the micro and macro perspectives to the discourse analysis. A number of notions has been studied in their functional and structural interrelations. The similarities and differences in the interpretation of the same categories by the ethnography of speaking and other schools of discourse-analysis have been identified.
