ETUDE DU POTENTIEL HYDROTHERMAL DE HAMMAM SOKHNA. EST ALGERIEN

Journal Title: Larhyss Journal - Year 2015, Vol 24, Issue 24

Abstract

The chemical typology of the thermal spring of Sokhna Hammam was especially studied using geochemical tool by using inversed modeling. The application of various diagrams made it possible to determine the facies, the origin and the state of balance of the solid phase with the solid phase. This made it possible to realize that water is sulphated, chlorinated and sodic. This geochemical relationship is dependent on dissolution of evaporitic minerals, on the carbonated mineral precipitation and the alteration of silicates. The inversed modeling shows that the liquid phase contains 36 % of sulfate, 29 % of carbonates and 7 % of silica. The origin of the water is partially due to the infiltration of meteoric waters circulating in depth in sedimentary rocks.
