European standards in protection of gender discrimination

Abstract
The European anti-discrimination standards are analyzed in the article based on the study of the legal framework of the European Union. Particular attention is paid to the origins of European anti-discrimination law, as well as changes in the substantive and procedural law, which relate to this sector. The relevance of the question raised is due not only to the universal recognition of European standards in the field of gender equality, but also the practical importance of the European system of anti-discrimination law, which is that, if necessary, can be directly used in the anti-discrimination instruments and refer to the jurisprudence at the time of consideration of the case by the national courts and authorities authorities.
