Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2012, Vol 3, Issue 6
Abstract
Career quality reflects the relationship among the staff and the staff with their workplace. Compatibility of medical emergencies center with their job is of higher importance. The aim of this research is to evaluate the career quality of staff in Kerman Center of Medical Emergencies in 2011.The methods used in this research are survey descriptive and the statistical population includes the personnel working in this center (N=400). 200 people were then selected using Morgan table. Research tool was Walton career quality questionnaire whose reliability was (=0.88) using the Cronbachs Alpha method. Data was then analyzed in two levels, namely in descriptive level (frequency, mean and standard deviation) and inferential level (one sample T, Friedman, independent T and variance) using SPSS20 software. Findings of the research, using the one-sample T reveals a meaningful difference between the inspected items in workplace with a theoretical mean of about P<0.05. The findings of the independent T reveal a meaningful difference in limitations regarding marital status, gender and employment status and also for the job index regarding gender. Furthermore the findings of variance analysis reveals a meaningful difference among all the items regarding place of work; as for consultation based on age and work experience and also for job, based on level of education. Considering the low career quality among the personnel of medical emergencies center, decision makers should make attempts to evolve the career life of the staff through letting them take part in making decision about work, making salary and wages proportional to staff’s workload, providing the ground for the employees to show their capabilities and skills and considering job promotions and encouragements.
