Evaluation and Improvement of Procurement Process with Data Analytics
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Applications - Year 2015, Vol 6, Issue 8
Abstract
Analytics can be applied in procurement to benefit organizations beyond just prevention and detection of fraud. This study aims to demonstrate how advanced data mining techniques such as text mining and cluster analysis can be used to improve visibility of procurement patterns and provide decision-makers with insight to develop more efficient sourcing strategies, in terms of cost and effort. A case study of an organization’s effort to improve its procurement process is presented in this paper. The findings from this study suggest that opportunities exist for organizations to aggregate common goods and services among the purchases made under and across different prescribed procurement approaches. It also suggests that these opportunities are more prevalent in purchases made by individual project teams rather than across multiple project teams.

A Novel Method in Two-Step-Ahead Weight Adjustment of Recurrent Neural Networks: Application in Market Forecasting
Gold price prediction is a very complex nonlinear problem which is severely difficult. Real-time price prediction, as a principle of many economic models, is one of the most challenging tasks for economists since the con...
A Modified Feistel Cipher Involving Modular Arithmetic Addition and Modular Arithmetic Inverse of a Key Matrix
In this investigation, we have modified the Feistel cipher by taking the plaintext in the form of a pair of square matrices. Here we have introduced the operation multiplication with the key matrices and the modular arit...
Study of the capacity of Optical Network On Chip based on MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) system
When designing Optical Networks-On-Chip, designers have resorted to make dialogue between emitters (lasers) and receivers (photo-detectors) through a waveguide which is based mainly on optical routers called ?-router. In...

A Novel Approach for Background Subtraction using Generalized Rayleigh Distribution
Identification of the foreground objects in dynamic scenario video images is an exigent task, when compared to static scenes. In contrast to motionless images, video sequences offer more information concerning how items...
