Evaluation Of Environmental Quality In Urban Systems in the Area of Central Târnava Basin
Journal Title: Geographia Napocensis - Year 2011, Vol 0, Issue 2
Abstract
Urban systems of Târnava basin are complex in terms functionality and organization of space. The most representative urban systems are Sighişoara, Mediaş, Copşa Mică (situated in passage of Târnava Mare river) and Târnăveni (placed in Târnava Mică valley). Within these cities the human intervention and forced industrialization has brought profound impacts on environmental quality. This paper offers an integrated and complex quality evaluation of the environmental components with the purpose of reducing the negative impact and implementing different sustainable territorial planning strategies.
