Evaluation of Health Tourism Sector in Aydın Province With SWOT Analysis

Abstract
Purpose of the study; The aim is to demonstrate the feasibility of health tourism, which is suitable for opportunities such as evaluating and diversifying the tourism supply in Aydın province, spreading tourism throughout the year and creating high value-added services. For this purpose, determining what duties will fall to the stakeholders and which micro destinations are more suitable in terms of supply constitute the secondary objectives. Content analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. Verbal and face-to-face interviews were held with internal and external stakeholders to obtain data. The data subjected to content analysis was then evaluated with SWOT analysis. As a result of the interpretation of the evaluated data; It has been observed that Aydın province has high value-added tourism types. It has a rich potential, especially in terms of natural resources (nature, groundwater, climate, etc.) that support health tourism. However, domestic and international promotional activities are not handled sufficiently at the institutional level.
