Evaluation of Rapidly Improved Narrow-Leaved Lace (Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl) Wood in Forest Products Industry
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Wood is one of the important natural renewable raw material which is maintained its importance many years and has significant potential in the future. The properties of this raw material determines its utilization. Narrow leaved ash (NLA, Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl) grows naturally in our country which has an important place in the work of the plantation in Europe because it shows valuable wood properties and rapid growth (average increment rate 25m3/ha/year). Silviculture scientists state that there should be certain spacing in quality timber production plantations because fast growing species contain high proportion of young wood. Ash wood has found many uses in the forest products industry today. Being white color of wood and high resistance properties makes this species important in industry. In this review article, detailed information will be given about the natural distribution and general characteristics and some application areas such as furniture industry, coating board production, massive and mosaic parquet production, shipping industry, heat treatment, mining poles, passenger and freight cars, making agricultural and sports equipment of ash wood. Thus, we are aimed better recognition of ash wood in our country.

Comparison of Load Flow Analysis Methods in Power Systems with Different Number of Buses
Nowadays, generation and consumption points are constantly increasing in parallel with the increasing energy demand and power systems are rapidly growing. However, it is very important to plan, install and operate the po...
Thermodynamics and Performance Analysis of a Diesel Engine with the Help of a Computer
In this study, a simulation was developed in MATLAB program for a single cylinder, normally aspirated, direct injection diesel engine cycle. As a result of simulation engine performance curves have been obtained at full...
An Investigation of Hybrid Framework for Dynamic Multi-Objective Problems
Multi-objective evolutionary algorithms and selection hyper-heuristics are adaptive methods that can handle different types of dynamism which may occur in the environment. In this study, a hybrid framework combining thes...
An optimization model for wind turbine micro-siting in Wind Power Plant installation
The wind turbine micro-siting is one of the most important agenda topics in Wind Power Plant (WPP) installations. An appropriate siting of wind turbines increases the amount of energy produced by the WPP. In this study,...
Error Probability Analysis of a Composite Weibull/Log-Normal Fading Channel
In this study, error probability of a single-input single-output (SISO) system is investigated over a composite Weibull/log-normal fading channel. We aim to study a SISO system in the composite Weibull/log-normal composi...
