Abstract

According to the International Labor Organizations annual 2 million and every 15 seconds one person in work-related accidents and illnesses are killed. The mortality rate in America's mine is 6 times more than other industry. Mining is the second industry in terms of mortality in the world. This study examines the accidents in 2011 and 2012 in the construction and mining projects, to find the causes of accidents, and reduced the accidents. This is a cross-sectional study that examines all accidents in Sungun and Chah Firooz project over the 2011-2012 years. AFR, ASR and FSI were used to analyze accidents and costsFrequency of accidents in 2 projects in 2011 was more than 2012. Investigation showed that the number of accident in each year in Sungun project was more than the Chah Firooz project. The direct cost of accident was more than the indirect cost in both projects. FSI index in both years was less than 0.1.frequency of accident in younger age groups was higher in both projects because of lack of experience, and risk appetite age group below 30 years, and the greater number of employees in this occupationalgroup. Finally with control strategies, such as training, we can control the rate of occupational accidents in the mines.
