Results of defining the term “competitiveness” have been summarized. The author has presented his own definition. The relationships between the term and the “theory of intellectual leadership” as well as the “theory of value” have been revealed. Further directions for researching the term “competitiveness” have been offered. The author notes that the competitiveness should be measured in terms of financial and economic parameters on the basis of statistical and accounting reports. That data have to reflect the efficiency of the resource use and accumulation over a chosen period, taking into account actual perspectives (technological, intellectual, economic, etc.).
